Photo Journal of my Flight from Vancouver to Los Angeles

Because my flight from Vancouver to Los Angeles onboard United Airlines was in a regional jet (Embraer 175), there was really little to report or review so I am testing a new approach instead with minimal words and more photos … Continue reading Photo Journal of my Flight from Vancouver to Los Angeles

Skiing at Breuil-Cervinia in Italy

From Zermatt, I made a short ski excursion into the resort of Breuil-Cervinia for one of the days I skied as both of these areas are inter-linked at the summit of Plateau Rosa Testa Grigia. Initially when I purchased the ski pass from the Gornergrat station, I was told the international link to Breuil-Cervinia was closed though it turned out to be open. The village of Breuil-Cervinia is in the Valle d’Aosta region of Italy where many other Italian ski resorts are to be found at. Taking the red intermediate run down to the village from the top of Plateau Rosa, … Continue reading Skiing at Breuil-Cervinia in Italy

A Photo Report of my flight on All Nippon Airways Economy Class

For the countdown to 2016 I was actually in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Shinjuku where the hotel held a small celebration with a choir in the lobby. Supper that night was a sashimi take-out that I had purchased in the supermarket in Shinjuku. The next morning, I skipped breakfast at the hotel to board the bus bound for Tokyo Haneda Airport. I would once again be boarding a domestic ANA flight to Sapporo Chitose Airport and since I have actually written about the experience before, I would not write about the whole thing again since it is more … Continue reading A Photo Report of my flight on All Nippon Airways Economy Class

Columbia River Gorge Scenic Drive – West Coast Spring Roadtrip

From Pendleton, I took a route via the scenic drive along Columbia River for another overnight in Portland. This is considered the tail-end of my trip and after more than 2 weeks on the road, I was really looking to reach back home. Apparently the Columbia River Gorge is one of the tourist attractions in Oregon and the scenic drive forms part of the Interstate (I-84) as well. During the summer, the inns and hotels along the route becomes prime spot for touring the beauty of this region. For skiers, Mt Hood is one of the spot to consider stopping … Continue reading Columbia River Gorge Scenic Drive – West Coast Spring Roadtrip

Driving the Pacific Coast Highway Southbound – West Coast Spring Roadtrip

Highway 1, also known as the Pacific Coast Highway along the coast of California is perhaps one of the well-known drives in the world. Many travel guides rates it as one of the best drives for road trips, and since I would be driving to Los Angeles, and have a stay at the Hyatt Carmel Highlands, it makes perfect sense to do this drive which has been on one of my list of travel experiences. The drive along the highway is more like a country road, with only 2 lanes, with one heading south and another heading north, so it … Continue reading Driving the Pacific Coast Highway Southbound – West Coast Spring Roadtrip
